We’re Looking for Leaders
Buying great businesses is half of what we do. The other half is finding the right people to lead them — and giving those people a real path to ownership.
The problem with the usual paths
If you’re a talented operator, your options usually look like this: grind up a corporate ladder that doesn’t care about you, take the startup lottery ticket, or try to buy a business yourself — competing against funds with deeper pockets, and carrying all the risk alone.
There’s a better way. Southern California is full of exceptional businesses whose owners are retiring — businesses that need a leader who will treat the team, the customers, and the reputation like their own. That’s where you come in.
What backing a leader looks like
A real business, day one
You step into an established company with real revenue, real customers, and a team that knows the work — not a pitch deck and a prayer.
A path worth earning
Great operators want more than a salary — we get it. Leadership paths here are built to grow into real ownership over time, earned through results and trust, and structured properly when the moment is right. We talk specifics face to face, not on a website.
A partner, not a boss
We handle what wears operators down — banking, insurance, back-office, capital for growth — and stay out of the way of what you do best.
The long game
We’re not building companies to flip them, and we’re not hiring leaders to churn them. We measure in decades — yours included.
Who we look for
People who’ve led teams and owned outcomes — general managers, operations leaders, superintendents, service managers, veterans, family-business seconds-in-command who’ll never get the keys. Southern California based, or ready to be. High character, low ego, references who light up when your name comes up.
Common questions
Who is this for?
Experienced operators, managers, and entrepreneurial leaders in Southern California who want to run a real business — trades, services, manufacturing, distribution — and build genuine ownership over time, rather than climb another corporate ladder.
Is there a path to ownership?
That's the long-term intent — and we know it's what serious operators care about. We're equally honest that ownership is earned, not offered on day one: the right structure depends on the person, the company, and doing things properly under California law, so we design each path individually, with real legal guidance, after we've worked together and trust is established. Step one is always the same: run something well, together.
Do I need to have run a company before?
You need real leadership scars — P&L ownership, running crews or teams, making payroll-level decisions. Titles matter less than judgment, work ethic, and how your references talk about you.
What happens after I reach out?
The same thing we promise sellers: a conversation, not a process. Coffee or lunch with Brian, a straight discussion about what you want to build, and honest next steps — even if the honest answer is 'not yet.'
Know an owner who’s selling AND ready to be the leader who takes it over? Even better — tell us both halves of that story.
Ready to run something real?
Tell us about yourself and what you want to build. Brian reads every note personally.
